HEY THERE! I’M JEN. I GREW UP IN A SMALL TOWN IN COLORADO BUT I'VE LIVED IN SEVERAL PLACES, ALL OVER THE WORLD SINCE THEN. I’VE LIVED NEAR THE MOUNTAINS MOST OF MY LIFE, BUT WITH MY MANY MOVES I'VE LIVED NEAR BEACHES, ON RANCHES, IN THE DESERT AND IN THE BUSTLING CITIES. I HAVE LOVED EVERYWHERE I’VE GONE, BUT LIVING NEAR THE MOUNTAINS WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE. FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS I HAVE CALLED SALEM, UTAH MY HOME AND I LOVE IT!
I ALSO LOVE CAPTURING PHOTOS OF EVERYWHERE I GO AND OF THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE THAT I MEET. I STARTED TAKING PHOTOS AT A VERY YOUNG AGE AND I’M ALWAYS LOOKING TO GROW MY SKILLS SO I CAN CREATE MEANINGFUL ARTWORK THAT BRIGHTENS THE LIVES OF THOSE I PHOTOGRAPH. MEETING NEW PEOPLE AND CAPTURING PHOTOS OF THE PEOPLE THAT THEY LOVE IS NOT JUST A JOB FOR ME, IT'S SOMETHING I LOVE DOING AND I WANT EVERY FAMILY TO HAVE THEIR OWN FAMILY ART HANGING IN THEIR HOME.
I'M A MOM OF 4!
My first and favorite job will always be my job as a mom! I have 2 boys and 2 girls that keep me busy. My oldest child is ADHD and on the Autism Spectrum. Although we have had some tough days because of it, I have learned so much about being patient and more understanding of all people and I will forever be grateful to be a mom to a child with special needs.
PLACES I'VE LIVED
I have moved a lot in my lifetime and majority of it happened when I left my childhood home. I lived in Taiwan for a year, Argentina for 18 months and 6 different states. Each place has a special place in my heart but my favorite was living in Hawaii! It has the perfect weather, amazing food and culture and the geography is stunning.
MY GUILTY PLEASURES
I am a sucker for pizza. I like just about any kind and could eat it everyday. It has always been my favorite food but my favorite pizza will always be homemade pizza. I also love any type of flavored Diet Coke or Coke Zero and Reese's covered animal crackers!
Favorite Places I've Been To
I have lofty goals when it comes to traveling! I hope to visit 50 countries in my lifetime and travel the country in an RV when my husband and I are old and retired. Until then, I can reminisce about my favorite places! Internationally, my favorite place has been Taroko Gorge National Park in Taiwan. Go look up pictures, it's seriously stunning! In the United States, my favorite place is Yellow Stone National Park. It is just so amazing and unique!
MY FAVORITE SEASON
Summer has been my favorite season for a long time! Although I don't love those scorching hot days (I'll sit in my air conditioned house, thank you) there is so much I love about summer! My favorite things about it are the BBQ's, kayaking or hiking with my family and staying outside late into the evening. Sitting outside at 9:00 at night and still enjoying the weather is magical.
MY SPARE TIME!
I love hanging out with my family and doing things with them, like vacations, hiking, kayaking...etc. but sometimes it's nice to have some "me time." With 4 kids, that's not always possible, but when I do get some time to myself, I enjoy watching a good show, like White Collar, Psych, Poldark or Parenthood! I also love making yearbooks of my family's photos, reading a good book or going to lunch with my friends!
